Warwick, England

Warwick was the frontlines in a conflict known to English History as the Second Barons War. The Challenger on the side of the Barons Simon de Montfort against King Henry III.

William Maudit is presiding over Warwick Castle at the time of the Barons War, and sides with the King- leading him to being caputured and held for ransom. During the first half of the conflict Montfort's success leads him to call England's first Parliment and organize democratic reforms, but when he arranges to meet with his sons forces in Warwicckshire he is attacked and overwhelmed by King Henry's escaped son and is killed.

Ultimately, though Montfort is killed, his reforms are passed and his democratic ideals start to play a role in English politics- though the role of the King keeps a strong influence.
