Salzburg, Austria

In 1736 the Prince Archbishop of Salzburg commissioned the Schloss Leopoldskron as a family estate. The house remained in the family for a long time, but it passed from nobility to a shooting gallery owner, who removed most of the valubles, through many hands including two waiters who tried to turn it into a hotel.

In 1918 the castle was sold to Max Reinhardt- Europe's most famous theater director, and the castle became a theatrical hub until it was confiscated by the Nazis as Jewish Property in 1938.

Unfortunately for the Nazis, the Castle's next use was as the Salzburg Global Seminar- an international gathering of minds that also has a significant contribution to LGBT activism (and Jewish LGBT activism).
