On February 14th of 1945, The American Army bombed Prague- an occupied nation, but one that was technically on their side. The pilots maintain that the bombing was a mistake made because of bad weather conditions and how similar the city looks to their target- Dresden- from the air.

Mistake or not, the attack killed all civilians and destroyed some historical monuments. Today the marks left by the bombing are clear in the radical changes between buildings where walls and other fragments were repaired rather then replaced.
