Venice, Italy

The sinking of Venice is a recently observed phenomenon, but a reality of life in the floating city. It was discovered that the artesian wells once being built across the city and in the area were raising the water level, as well as the building of deeper areas for the tankers to dock.

The City also once served as the gate between Europe and the Holy land. During the crusades the crusaders came to Venice seeking passage and during one crusade- when they didn't have the money to pay the venetians, they raided the Christian City of Constantinople, took the riches and ignored the holy land altogether.
